5 Stars Maximum Core
This is a great DVD for developing your core strength. There are three separate twenty minute workouts included. Each is different and adds variety to your exercise routine.

5 Stars Amazing Workout
This is the only workout that has ever made me feel instantaneously stronger and leaner after a single use. It is challenging and continues to be with regular use. It really is the greatest resource for a great core workout. Cathe truly pushes and is encouraging the entire time. Absolutely worth it.

5 Stars Excellent Workout
If you are looking for a time effective, tough targeted abs workout, this is the DVD for you. I am a trained classical pilates instructor so I am very picky about my exercise videos. Although I obviously love pilates, I enjoy doing other types of non-pilates ab workouts as well, and enjoy doing them with videos. Many of the videos that are out there just are not challenging enough. All of Cathe Friedrich’s videos are tough and effective, but she always give options for those who are more beginning or have some type of injury. This abs video gives you 3 different 20 minute segments with and withut the exercise ball, and just 20 minutes will give you a great workout. I highly recommend this video.

5 Stars my abs are sore :o)
This is my second Cathe work out video (the first is the step body fusion). This is a awesome ab and core workout, the length of each workout is perfect, any shorter and it wouldnt be enough and much longer and i’d probably pull something. I’m not in the best shape ever, but I am not completly out of shape either, id say im pretty average for a young woman. I feel that it is NOT too difficult to where I can barely finnish half the program, however there are some areas that i’ll have to work up to doing perfect all the way through. Which, I feel this is a good thing because it allows me to have goals and prevents me from getting bored or too discouraged.

Cathe is my favorite workout leader so far, she doesnt yell at you through the TV and she isnt annoyingly perky. However, you definatly dont get bored with the workouts. At first, I was thinking, “how many ways can you work your stomach!?” But I was wrong, there are a lot of different workouts Cathe includes to work all areas of your core without being repetative.

Another thing I love is that she makes sure to explain how to properly do the exercise, and stresses that having good form is more important than finnishing the exercise. She also includes variations of most exercises to either make things easier/less stressful or to make things more challenging

**NOTE** Before you buy this workout, make sure you have a stability ball, and a medicine ball (Cathe uses 8lb, so do i), I also reccomend a mat so you dont get irritated by your carpet or flooring.

This video is def a good investment and I cant wait till i start to not only feel the results but actually start to see them :o)

5 Stars Cathe Friedich’s Hardcore Series: CORE MAX
Excellent for abs and back. All three workouts are wonderful and easy to follow. Great workouts!!

Classic Kathy Smith Step Workout

Classic Kathy Smith Step Workout

Kathy Smith’s Step Workout is a splendid introduction to step for the novice, and a solid workout for intermediates. The main workout consists of three 12-minute, progressive step segments. Beginners do only the first, then fast-forward to the cool-down; intermediates do the first two; seasoned steppers may do all three. The beginning segment uses very simple moves repeated frequently: the basic up-up-down-down, knee lifts, toe taps, leg curls, and leg lifts. The intermediate segment introduces more moves, still presented simply, and puts them together into simple combinations. It’s athletically more challenging, but not complicated. The advanced segment adds more strenuous moves such as straddles, lunges, and gentle propulsion moves. After the cool-down is an abdominal segment using the step as a slant board, and then a short upper-body sculpting segment starting with pushups and then using weights. At the end, a special teaching guide for novice steppers demonstrates the basics of stepping. Experienced steppers who like a lot of choreography will get bored quickly, but if you want the athleticism of step without complicated choreography, you’ll be happy here. Smith’s cueing and safety guidelines, as always, are excellent. –Joan Price

1 Star Kathy Smith Step Workout
I received the item without the dvd inside the package. I will never order from amazon again. My rating in a zero and will let people what a rip off you people are.

5 Stars Great home step aerobics
I just finish this dvd and I must say I was sweating crazy. The step workout varies from beginning, intermideate and advanced level. I used the taller platform for beginner and intermideate segment and the shorter platform for advanced. I liked the ab section and I improvise my weights during the toning section, I used heavier weights recommended from the workout. I love it because it’s a total body workout in 1 hour, comparable to gym class without the distraction. The outfit, music, or quality of the picture didn’t bother me, it’s the quality of the workout I’m after for.

5 Stars Back to straightforward step aerobics
A wonderful alternative to going to the gym. You will need to purchase health-club-quality step (I got mine on-line) which is a bit pricey, but worth it. The video quality is good, commands are clear, music is acceptable and appropriate to the moves. When done all the way through, the workout gets intense. Bonus intro to strength training is short and sweet, making the point that there is more to fitness than stepping. Too bad that the fitness clubs have all but eliminated step classes. I keep telling mine to get back to basics, but they’re hooked on trendy gimmicky classes - with BAD MUSIC.

2 Stars Not the best
I did not love this workout. I have done step before and even the advanced portion was boring and simple. I enjoy a workout where I can break a sweat and I end up skipping this one on my DVD shelf more often than not.

If you are just starting out with step it’s probably a good option; if you have done step before you will probably find this too easy.

4 Stars Dated, but a good workout
Lots of fun…I like this DVD not only because of the workout, but also because of the information it gives to the stepper…I didn’t know that stepping was the equivalent of jogging 7 miles per hour! She also give step heights for different abilities (Beg/Int/Adv) and very clear, consise instructions. Okay, the clothes and hair are a bit dated and the music is kindy hokey, but I did get a great workout and was able to redo the previous section with just the push of button to get a full 45 minute aerobic session (otherwise it’s 35 minutes Beg=10 min, Inter=13 min, Adv=12 min). The warm-up (8 minutes) and cool down (5 minutes) are sufficient for the workout

5 Stars Awesome machine, but don’t buy from this seller.
Especially when you can purchase it directly from Weider for $150 shipped. I purchased mine a few months back and this machine is worth every penny. I use it regularly and actually enjoy working out on it!!

5 Stars Great product great choice!!!
I bought this product back when it was only $100. I was a little apprehensive about the performance and price when looking at its competitors. To my surprise the machine performed VERY well. I thought it might be too good to be true. I was wrong!!! It is a wonderful product. I never get tired of the exercises. The machine is secure, it was easy to put together and very effective if you use it!!! It was a great choice for me!!!

4 Stars great price, good workout
Was a hard decision, was looking for a total gym machine but did not want to spend the money. Was afraid this would be cheap and low quality and was pleasantlt suprised. Customer service was also good. Will probably rate it a 5 once I have it longer if it holds up like I suspect it will.

5 Stars Great, inexpensive, convenient workout bench
I recently received this as a Christmas gift. I have been wanting a workout bench like this for a while because 1) I don’t have space for anything more in my apartment 2) this doesn’t require you to buy or store extra weights and 3) it collapses if I need to move it out of the room for company.

So, this type of machine is the type I was looking for. I really liked the Total Gym 1700, because it came with the foot/lower body workout attachment and also had the ability to add additional weight.

This bench does all that and more for much less. First, it is very sturdy and because of the type of bench it is, there is a huge variety of exercises you can do. It’s as close to an all-in-one machine as you can get for the space it takes up.

Second, it is a fraction of the price of a Total Gym.

Third, while there are not bars to add extra weights there are bungees. I know it sounds very lame to be comparing the bungees to weights, but they really do make a difference. There are four bungees on the bottom and they are easy to hook and unhook to change the resistance. And, the do add considerable resistance.

I really appreciate the fact that I can change from one exercise to another very quickly and I can get a very full workout quickly.

Also, I have had no trouble adjusting or setting up the bench. The only “accident” I had with it was when I smashed my fingers adjusting the bench once. However, this was completely my fault as I was adjusting the bench and holding on to a bar that had two different warning stickers reading, “WARNING Keep hands and fingers clear of this area.” I learned quickly never to do that again and have never had a problem since (it is very easy to adjust by holding any of the other bars not having warning stickers).

So, if you want the ability to workout without weights and have a large variety of exercises at your disposal without taking up a ton of space (and you don’t mind saving $$ in the process), this is the machine for you.

5 Stars Excellent Devices
I received this unit just recently -

It came out of the box, and I had to tighten 3 bolts for the bottom leg, mine didn’t have the adjustment bar connected and 2 loose bolts in the box - so I had to attach 2 more bolts - took about 5 - 10 minutes to have this all setup and going. And that was it. Within 15 minutes of receiving the box, I was literally starting some workouts.

The footplate and top handlebar are removable by a simple pin, once removing these pieces, the machine lays completely flat, maybe 5 or 6″ tall and can easily slide under a bed. However, it’s rather large and bulky so for most people, you wouldn’t want to pull it out every day to use it, rather leave it setup and stash it away when you need the space. However, pulling the machine out and sliding it up would take less than 1min, literally.

I found this machine virtually replaces all my gym exercises. The addition of the bungee cords is brilliant, as they add additional resistance for squats or whatever else you may need resistance for - without requiring you to slide the machine higher.

A HUGE bonus to having a machine like this, is you can go from one exercise to the next INSTANTLY. There is no walking to another machine, no different setup, nothing. I never would have thought this would be such a big deal, but it really does remove the hassle and this makes the workouts much more pleasant.

The wall poster has a bunch of common exercises that will get you started and is easy to look at and duplicate.

This machine is extremely well built, I was SHOCKED at how large, sturdy, and solid it really is. I’m 6′ 3″ and 230 lbs and I fit just fine on it.

Overall I highly recommend this product. It’s easy to stow, extremely sturdy and well built, actually does replace an entire gym, and the price is unbeatable.

*you can purchase on Weiders own website for a mere $99 + $25 shipping.
